Battle Creek police find drugs that look like children’s vitamins

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Battle Creek police have seized pills believed to contain drugs but resembling children’s colored vitamins, city officials say.

Police received a report of an assault around 9:40 a.m. Aug. 17 at the Finish Line Laundry, located on East Columbia Avenue near Main Street, the City of Battle Creek said in a statement released Tuesday. Officers from the Battle Creek Police Department then stopped a vehicle that was believed to be involved.

The 18-year-old driver was arrested. Police said they found drugs in the car that looked like children’s vitamins but allegedly contained methamphetamine.

“Please be aware of pills like this and the potential access of children to them. Contact the police if you come across a suspicious or unknown substance like this,” the city said in the press release.

The driver was charged with assault and battery as well as possession of a similar controlled substance, according to city officials.

The investigation is ongoing.
